NYPD Deploys 40 Nissan Altima Hybrids
While Americans have been seizing hybrid vehicles for years now, these vehicles are now also seeing use as taxis across Canada and soon in the United States. The NYPD has now decided to have a new fleet of hybrid police cars. The NYPD will be adding a total of 40 new Altima Hybrid vehicles to their fleet, 18 marked units and 22 unmarked units. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, “Through savings in fuel, these Altimas can quickly cover their additional cost, from then they will save taxpayers money — another example of how going green is good for our environment and our pocketbooks.”

2009 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5S
The 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe looks very much like the Infiniti G37 but costs around $10,000 to $15,000 less. The Altima coupe is powered by a 175 horsepower engine and standard six speed transmission. The Altima Coupe has lots of style, great gas mileage, the ability to handle well in the city and on the highway and a smooth manual transmission. There is also the keyless entry which locks, unlocks, starts, and stops the car. The Convenience Package which costs $1,300 includes 16inch alloy wheels, audio control on the leather wrapped steering wheel, auto on/off headlights and more. The Premium Package includes leather seats, power moon-roof, Bluetooth, stereo with satellite and more and costs $3,800. The Technology Package includes navigation system with touch screen and voice activation, rear view camera, and XM Nav Traffic

The 2009 Nissan Murano received a redesigned look from the original which debuted as a 2004 model. This SUV which is car based shares a platform with the Nissan Altima sedan. The Murano comes in three trims S, SL and LE. The engine has been joined with a continuously variable transmission that many feel is the best around. Nissan Altima Hybrid
The Nissan Altima Hybrid is a not too shabby four-door sedan. The Altima Hybrid has an EPA mileage rating of 35 city and 33 highway. The Hybrid comes with keyless entry and a push-button start ignition. It takes a second to turn the car on and displays a green “ready” light to inform the driver when the electric motor is ready. The Altima Hybrid also received five-star ratings for front and side crashes.
