The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse base model starts at $28,990, including a $735 destination charge. It is prices $5 less than the 2008 Saturn Outlook XE which starts at $28,995, including shipping. The Traverse will be in showrooms this fall. The Traverse is the fourth of GM’s crossover lineup, which includes the Saturn Outlook, Buick Enclave, and the GMC Acadia. The 2009 Traverse being the least expensive of the four.
The Traverse will be offer in three trim levels and in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive. It has a 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 that delivers 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The Traverse currently gets 17 miles per gallon city and 24 MPG on the highway.
