The 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition: A Corvette Collector’s Dream

With only 500 units lined up for production, the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition serves as a must have for any Corvette collector! The new Z06 is “designed to further incorporate technology through racing”, and is, “…a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Corvette’s first race in the 24 Hours of LeMans”, says Chevrolet General Manager, Jim Campbell. According to Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer, the Z06 Carbon is, “the best balanced Corvette yet. It combines the lightweight and naturally-aspirated Z06 engine with the road-holding and braking of the ZR1”.

This limited edition Z06 will boast Bremo carbon ceramic brakes with specific dark gray metallic calipers. The Corvette will also sport black 20 spoke 19-inch/20-inch rear wheels wrapped by Michelin PS2 tires. And, for the first time, the Z06 will have Magnetic Selective Ride Control.

The car also features a special carbon pattern engine cover. The Corvette Z06 Carbon will be available in two colors: Inferno Orange and Supersonic Blue. It is enhanced by black headlamps and mirrors, a ZR-1 style body color spoiler, body color door handles, carbon raised hood, and black carbon fiber rockers and splitter. For track events, you can even install Euro-styled racing numbers (that come with each car).

The 2011 Corvette Z06 is decked to the nines. Its ebony leather and suede interior is enhanced by blue or orange seat stitching (depending on what color you choose), and you will also find a unique steering wheel emblem, sill plate and logoed headrest. The suede used on the steering wheel, shifter, seat inserts, armrests and doors add to the luxury of the Z06!

The 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition will be available late this summer! So look into buying yours today, there are only 500!

2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD: Lives Bigger, Drives Better, and Works Harder for YOU [Reason 2]

Okay, as promised, here is reason #2 for why I think the new 2011 Silverado Heavy Duty truck will crush any other heavy duty truck on the market!

Reason #2: New & Strong Independent Front Suspension

The 2010 Silverado Heavy Duty has a completely redesigned front suspension system! It offers up to 6,000 pounds front gross axle weight rating (a 25-percent greater front axle weight rating than before) – great for a snow plow to be used on all 4WD cab configurations with the snow prep package.

Silverado’s signature short-long arm/torsion bar front suspension design features new, forged steel upper control arms that are stronger and lighter than their predecessors. The new lower control arms are made of precision-machined cast iron to handle the greater loads. Five different torsion bar rates support five different front gross axle weight ratings – this helps stabilize the range of trim heights of various models under load, while enhancing appearance, handling, durability, tire wear and alignment. The trim height is adjusted on each bar via a single bolt, easily allowing the height to be changed to account for the weight of a snow plow or other accessories.

The Silverado HD’s new design eliminates squeaks and clunks, while supporting higher load capability and increased durability. The front suspension now uses a pair of urethane jounce bumpers on each side, instead of one, for improved load management; and there’s a new upper shock mount attachment design that’s positively connected to the frame with two fasteners.

The Silverado’s independent front suspension provides a better ride, more accurate trim height control and greater flexibility to adjust the alignment for weight and tire sensitivity!

2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD: Lives Bigger, Drives Better, and Works Harder for YOU [Reason 1]

Over the next few weeks I will be outlining 11 reasons why the new 2011 Silverado Heavy Duty truck will crush any other heavy duty truck on the market. I have studied this truck…and have studied this truck…and for a change of pace, I have studied it some more…and I can not find a single job that this truck can not do – and I want nothing more than to share all of its glory with you!

For a little background on the 2011 HD:

Comprised of the broadest lineup of Silverado Heavy Duty trucks Chevrolet has ever provided, the new 2011 Silverado HD has something for everyone – literally. There are 19 models available, with 3 different trims to choose from, and a ‘Silverado-Extended-Cab-full’ of features for you to think about. Jim Campbell, Chevrolet’s General Manager, made sure that Chevy “…sought the input of [its] customers during the development of the 2011 Silverado HD to deliver a truck that meets or exceeds [the customers’] every need”, and, “…offers greater strength and capability – including class leading fuel economy, trailering and payload ratings – and has more power, accelerates quicker and has lower emissions” to those customers.

Reason #1: New Frames

The engineers determining the design of the HD’s frames were extremely attentive to its common customer and after uses. So much that they added access holes to the rear frame section for easier installation of 5th wheel or gooseneck style hitches and made sure that the frame mounted hitch for conventional trailering was stronger (made with a box-tube design), supporting up to 16,000 pounds.

Eleven all-new, fully boxed, frames have been engineered to improve durability and ride, while also supporting increased capability. The engineers added hydroformed front sections, increased cross sections and used high-strength steel for greater durability, higher towing capacity and improved ride and handling. The frames can bend up to 92% and 20% more, respectively, with the fully boxed sections enhancing torsional stiffness by a factor of 5.

Be on the look out for reason #2!

Keep the Junk Out of Your Car

Somehow…someway… junk piles up in your car. Receipts from ATM machines, leftover change from the takeout you had last night, an empty water bottle, shoes for the gym, etc. flood the floor of your car and prevent your friends or family members from comfortably sitting down. You don’t know how it all got there and you don’t know why – but you do know that you want it gone. So how do you go about preventing junk from piling up?

First, in order to stop trash from piling up, add a trash bag to your car. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just grab a plastic bag from your home and place it in the passenger side door storage holder or hang it from the back of the passenger seat. Then, every time you acquire a piece of trash, all you need to do is place your trash in the trash bag. This will prevent receipts, gum wrappers, and other miscellaneous items from piling up on the floor of your car.

Next, if you have a hobby that requires a change of clothes or materials to be left in your car make sure you keep in it a bag in the trunk of your car. This will keep it out of sight and out of the way of potential passengers. Also, if you have children, try keeping toys and electronics in a crate or box in the back seat. This way, the toys are not set out everywhere with the potential of flying out a widow or being stepped on.

Last, but certainly not least or finally, if you are one of those people who throw change all around your vehicle, then try keeping your change in one particular area. If you do not have a slot in your dashboard for change, place a cup in one of your cup holders and use it for your change. You will be amazed at how much change you really do have!

Remember to clean the inside of your car at least once a month! Routinely vacuuming your floor mats, floors, and seats, and cleaning the button/dials in your car will not only keep your car looking and smelling nice, but will prevent dirt from building up in your buttons – preventing them from working properly!
