2011 HHR Review

For 2011, the HHR sees few changes. The SS turbocharged model is discontinued, as is the LT panel model. Black, Aqua Blue, and several accent stripes are no longer available, as are Cashmere cloth interior trim and Cashmere leather interior trim. Black Granite Metallic is a new extra-cost color and Mocha Steel Metallic is also now available.

HHR stands for “Heritage High Roof,” and it is the high roof that provides ample interior headroom and generous cargo volume. Combined with a highly configurable interior, including removable rear seats, the HHR is a versatile passenger and cargo hauler. Captain-style seating allows good visibility and SUV appeal.

2011 Chevy HHR

Chevrolet’s HHR debuted in 2006 to much enthusiasm, selling over 100,000 units in its first year. The attention-grabbing style continues in 2011, featuring a big chrome grille and a long, smoothly curved hood reminiscent of Chevy’s 1949 Suburban. The rear tailgate is framed by two small, round taillights, making the HHR one of the most unique looking vehicle in Chevrolet’s lineup. The HHR’s front wheel drive platform is borrowed from the Chevy Cobalt, yet is aimed at those looking for more style and greater cargo room than the Cobalt provides.

Chevrolet is Making Earth Day Everyday

Chevrolet is leading the way in making Earth Day everyday, and you can help by driving one of Chevy’s seven models with an EPA estimated 30MPG highway or better. The Aveo sedan, Aveo5, Cobalt, Malibu Hybrid, and select models of HHR and Panel HHR fall into the 30MPG or better club. However, you may not be looking for a car, but a truck or an SUV, well we can help you there too. With our Chevy Silverado offering the best V8 fuel economy of any full size pickup and the full size Tahoe SUV (aka the Green Car of The Year) which delivers best-in-class fuel economy. New technology like Chevy’s Active Furl Management has played a role in achieving greater fuel economy. Active Fuel Management deactivates half the engine cylinders when they are not needed and reactivates them when you need the extra power. And yet there is still more! Every 2008 Chevy is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitor that will automatically alert you when your tire pressure is low. Did you know that properly inflated tired can improve gas mileage by up to 3%! This may seem like such a small amount but if everyone in the U.S. has properly inflated tires, we could save millions of gallons of gas each year.
For the last eight years, Chevy has been producing vehicles capable of running on a fuel that grows primarily from the earth. This fuel is E85 ethanol. Chevy has over 2 million E85 FlexFuel vehicles on the road today. Chevy also offers for E85 ethanol-capable vehicle choices then any other brand.
America’s first full-size hybrid SUV, the Chevy Tahoe, is available in two or four wheel drive and provides the power you would expect from a SUV while delivering efficiency you never thought of. The Chevy Tahoe is designed to operate in three ways: electric power, engine power, or any combination of the two. And here’s the best part: when you pair the two mode technology with our Active Fuel Management system, the Tahoe Hybrid gets up to 50% better city fuel economy then the non-hybrid Tahoe.
The Concept Chevy Volt will be different from any previous electric vehicle because of it till use a lithium-ion battery with a variety of range-extending onboard power sources, including gas, and in some, E85 ethanol to recharge the battery while driving. When it comes to plugging in, the Volt will be designed to use a 110-volt household plug. If you drive less then forty miles a day the Volt will use no gasoline and produce no emissions. For longer trips, the Volts range-extending power source kicks in to recharge the lithium-ion battery. Chevrolet expects an estimated driving range of 640 miles.
Chevrolet has launched a test fleet of the hydrogen-powered fuel cell Equinox SUVs. You can expect to see these vehicles on the streets of New York City, Washington, D.C., and Southern California. With Project Driveway underway many ask why test these vehicles with real drivers in the real world. The answer to that is because hydrogen fuel cells use no gasoline and produce no emissions. The Equinox Fuel cell is an electric vehicle powered by GM fourth-generation fuel cell system, the most advanced fuel cell propulsion system to date. The Equinox Fuel cell will go nearly 150 miles per fill-up and reach a top speed of 100 mph. Green Car Journal has given the Chevy Equinox Fuel cell its Green Car Vision Award. The Equinox Fuel Cell won the award over several nominees including the Honda FCX Clarity and Toyota Prius Plug-In.
