BORDENTOWN – Chevrolet continued its global rollout of the all-new 2013 Malibu midsize sedan with the first shipment of its most fuel-efficient Malibu ever – the Malibu Eco – we have 2 cars on the lot, ready to drive and ready for delivery at Bob Maguire Chevrolet in Bordentown, NJ.

The Malibu Eco is the first model of the all-new 2013 Malibu lineup to reach Bob Maguire Chevrolet, bringing with it:

  • A sporty exterior shaped to save fuel
  • An all-new interior with more room, comfort and premium materials

“Chevrolet made the new Malibu even better with more room inside, a premium interior and new Chevrolet MyLink infotainment technology. It’s also the quietest Chevrolet ever built with the ride and handling characteristics of a premium sports sedan. said Michael Maguire, President of Bob Maguire Chevrolet. “Add in the fuel economy of a compact sedan priced below a full hybrid and we believe the Malibu Eco offers an incredible value.

An all-new Ecotec 2.5L engine debuts in the Malibu later this summer, followed by an all-new Ecotec 2.0L turbo engine.

The new Malibu Eco has a suggested retail price of $25,995, including a $760 destination charge. The 2013 Malibu is Chevrolet’s first global midsize sedan and will be sold in nearly 100 countries on six continents. Last year, the Malibu was GM’s second-best selling car in the United States behind the Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan.

Chevy’s All New Malibu

The all-new Malibu will transcend time zones and embrace the diversity of cultures around the world when Chevrolet simultaneously unveils it live at the Shanghai Auto Show and on Chevrolet’s Facebook page.

Chevrolet provided a sneak peak glimpse today of its Malibu show car. Chevrolet will unveil the new Malibu live starting at 8:30 p.m. EDT on April 18 at http://www.facebook.com/chevrolet. The Web reveal will also be streamed live on iPad and iPhone mobile devices.

Consumers are encouraged to post questions during the reveal on Twitter using #MalibuReveal or on Chevrolet’s Facebook page in the Malibu tab. Members of the Chevrolet team will be on hand to answer questions during a live moderated question-and-answer session following the web reveal.

The timing of the Web reveal coincides with the April 19 auto show debut of the new Malibu in Shanghai. The Malibu show car will also be shown at the New York International Auto Show, which is open to the public April 23 through May 1.

“This Malibu takes Chevrolet’s established and award-winning nameplate to new places and introduces it to new audiences around the world,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet. “Whether the Malibu is sold in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, or Australia, it has been engineered from the ground up to meet the needs of customers around the world.”

The Malibu will feature a global family of fuel-efficient and powerful four-cylinder engines, along with six-speed transmissions that also contribute to efficient performance. The Malibu was designed to stand out in all markets around the globe, while its European-inspired driving characteristics were engineered to challenge the best in its class. The new Malibu is Chevrolet’s first midsize car to be sold globally. It will be sold in nearly 100 countries on six continents and built in multiple locations, including China and two facilities in the United States.

“We look forward to offering the new Malibu to our customers across China,” said Kevin Wale, president and managing director of the GM China Group. “The Malibu fully embodies Chevrolet’s tradition of dynamic styling, superior handling and outstanding fuel efficiency. It will address growing domestic demand in the upper-medium segment, especially among younger car buyers.”

The Malibu was Chevrolet’s – and GM’s – best-selling car in the United States in 2010, with sales of nearly 200,000 vehicles. It is among Chevrolet’s most-decorated vehicles in the United States, earning more than 40 industry awards since 2008. The Malibu was the only midsize car in the industry to win the Consumers Digest Automotive “Best Buy” award the last three years – 2011, 2010 and 2009. The Malibu has also been named a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety the last two years.

With the new Malibu, Chevrolet continues to position itself for worldwide growth. GM’s largest brand is in the midst of introducing a global family of fuel-efficient cars including the Cruze, Volt, Sonic/Aveo, Spark and Malibu. These new cars compete in the four largest vehicle segments in the world, which accounted for 54 percent of all non-luxury sales in 2010. The global segment that Malibu will compete in represented 9 percent – more than 5.7 million vehicles – of global sales in 2010.

Last year, Chevrolet sold 4.26 million vehicles globally, or an average of one vehicle every 7.4 seconds. Eight of the top 10–selling markets for Chevrolet in 2010 were emerging markets – Brazil, China, Uzbekistan, Mexico, Russia, India, Argentina and Colombia. Emerging Markets are expected to account for more than 50 percent of Chevrolet global sales by 2012.

More than 600,000 Malibu cars have been sold globally since 2008, when it was named the North American Car of the Year. The 2013 Malibu represents the eighth generation of the nameplate, which was introduced in 1964.

GM Keeps ‘Em Coming

GM has really made its mark this year,  in terms of awards, and it continues to do so as the days go by. One of the most impressive milestones for GM is that J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study (IQS) recognized 10 GM models as top three vehicles in their segments for quality performance within the first 90 days of ownership. Some of those models are: Malibu, CTS, Suburban, Lucerne, and Yukon XL.

I am happy to announce that the Tahoe, Avalanche, Escalade and Sierra 1500 have each received quality awards as top vehicles in their class! Also, along with all of the awards going to GM vehicles, the Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Michigan won the Bronze Plant Award in North/South America region, as well as being recognized as the top-ranking plant in the US!

2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Chevrolet’s 2010 Malibu has established itself as stylish, comfortable, safe and reliable transportation for a family concerned about low initial cost and low running costs. 2010 Malibu

The 2010 Chevrolet Malibu comes in three different trim levels–LS, LT, and LTZ. Standard on each model is a 169-hp, 2.4L 4-cylinder engine, which can now run on an E85 ethanol/gasoline blend. A 252-hp, 3.6L V6 with variable valve timing is optional on the LT and LTZ trims. Four-cylinder LS and LT models get a 4-speed automatic transmission, though a 6-speed automatic is optional on the LT and standard on the LTZ. With the 4-cylinder engine, the Malibu achieves respectable fuel-efficiency ratings of 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway.

Inside and out, the Malibu’s lines are modern and attractive, with great attention to detail. The flowing instrument panel forms a “dual cockpit” design. LTZ models get front fog lamps and attention-getting LED rear lamps.

With its 4-wheel independent suspension and either 17- or 18-inch wheels, the Malibu offers a smooth ride and sporty handling response, due to a standard rear stabilizer bar. Four-cylinder models have electric variable-assist power steering, while V6 models have hydraulic power steering.

General Motors Co. to payback the US and Canadian Governments Loans.

US auto giant General Motors has officially announced the repayment of its $5.8 Billion loan by the end of June ‘10. The loan is from the U.S Treasury and Export Development Canada, both of which currently hold Equity Shares in the company.

The company that emerged from bankruptcy in July 2009 also stated that once the repayments are complete “the focus will be to upgrade the plants in Detroit and Kansas to build their Next Generation- Chevrolet Malibu.”

The news of the repayment was made on the Wall Street Journal website on Tuesday April 20th by the CEO of GM, Ed Whitacre, as he announced “Our ability to pay back these loans less than a year after emerging from bankruptcy is a sign that our plan for building a new GM is working.”

The Detroit- Hamtramck and Kansan City factories will be updated with an investment of $ 275 million. The update will enable the plants to manufacture the Next Generation Malibu slated for release next year. On Wednesday, Mr.Whitacre addressing the Kansas City plant said that it will receive $136 million of the investment as the plant will be the prime manufacturing site for the Malibu.

As per the Automotive News Data Center, the new Chevy Malibu has a 53 day supply and Buick LaCrosse a 43 day supply, and the Kansas plant is working 3 shifts and on Saturdays to build both the cars which began production in April to maintain a 60 Day supply level as recommended by analysts.

The Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS sedans currently being produced at the Detroit Hamtramck plant will be downsized this year to accommodate the production of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in sedan, to be released in the fourth quarter of ’10. The Hamtramck plant investment of $121 will assist in the production of the Malibu in period of spike in demand.

Bob Maguire Chevrolet Has Moved!

Why Chevy Malibu?

2010 Chevrolet Malibu or Chevy Malibu is one of the best looking and most popular ranked midsize cars. It has a two-tone cabin that is a style in itself and coddles a driver. It is more popular as a family car with balanced ride and economic fuel efficiency. The exterior of the Chevy Malibu has always scored good points. Some even compare its sheet metal with a European sports sedan.

Chevy Malibu was flooded with awards after it got redesigned in 2008. One of the most popular awards it got in 2008 was “North American Car of the Year”. This was given at North American International Auto Show.

These days it is a consideration for people opting to buy a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry as it is a good option as a family car.

Since 2008 there has been few changes in present day 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, in fact a major change has been instead of use of 2.4L four-cylinder engine  one can use E85 as well as regular gasoline. The latest version is available at four trim levels.

Fuel efficiency is one of its strongest assets. Buyers need not worry about fuel economy as Chevy is building well-managed LTZ trim level with a fuel-efficient 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine along with a six speed transmission.

The next issue that makes it among the top cars are the safety. It has got a five star rating from federal government where safety is concerned. Before giving this rating its frontal as well as side-impact crash tests were conducted by the federal government.

A Chevy Malibu is covered by best coverage in America that includes a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic limited warranty also it has 5-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

It is considered as most striking car in its own class. It is considered as best buy in its competitive segment. It has all in one a smart looking interior, a sleek sheetmetal, a smooth four-cylinder engine, its redefined powertrains and the best thing is that all this at really affordable price. It is well equipped with impressive set of standard features for which you do not pay anything extra.

2012 Chevy Malibu Review

Chevrolet is already redesigning its award-winning midsize car for what looks like a tough decade ahead. A Fresh styling, more room and new fuel-efficient powertrains could mean more accolades and more sales.

Chevrolet’s midsize Malibu sedan won the 2008 North American Car of the year award title, and it out polled out a key rival. That’s an impressive turn around from the dishwater dull Malibu’s of recent years, considering that the NA COTY is chosen by the selecting group of hard headed automotive journalists.

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibu will also have an arched roofline and a boxy tail which is good for truck space and higher rise bodysides with more sheetmetal creases for a leaner, less puffy look. The New version of the New Chevy Malibu’s face is with a thick horizontal bar bearing the bow-tie logo laid atop a large trapezoidal grille.

The awards and buzz quickly fade from memory, and there’s no time to rest in today’s fast paced automotive world. That’s why

Chevrolet is already working on the next generation Malibu , which is expected for model year 2010, possibly 2011. Chevrolet still takes four to five years for most vehicle makers to take a new model from first thoughts to final assembly, about three years once the basic design is locked-in.

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibuchevy malibu will share GM’s new “Epilon2” midsize-car platform with the 2010 Buick Lacrosse, slated to bow in early 2009, and a redesigned 2010 Saturn Aura expected later that same calendar year.  Exterior sheetmetal will again disguise the common “bones” but with a key difference. The flexible manufacturing allows GM to more quickly alter the production mix to suit changes in sales demand, which not only saves money but also boosts potential profits.

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibu will be somewhat larger than today’s car. That implies an extra inch or two in wheelbase and overall height, but maybe not overall length which should mean more passenger and cargo space. E2 engineers at GM’s German Opel branch, which have global responsibility for GM midsize cars, will be watching weight with an eye towards boosting fuel economy and reducing emissions. We thus expect the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and other E2 models to make greater use of lightweight materials, including stronger hydroformed steel for major structural members, which should pay off in cars that are tighter, quieter, and more durable.

Chevy Malibu – The best family sedan car

The 2010 Chevrolet Malibu ranks 5 out of 21 affordable midsize cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of the 71 published reviews and test drives of the chevrolet Malibu , and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The Chevrolet Malibu has enjoyed a ranking near the top of the midsize car class since a 2008 redesign. With a distinctive, two tone cabin more stylish than the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry, a balanced ride and excellent fuel economy, the Chevy Malibu is one of the best family cars available.

When the Chevy Malibu was redesigned for 2008, the automotive press heaped awards on the car. It was one of the car and Driver’s 10Best, North American Car of the year at 2008 North American International Auto Show, and one of the Automobile Magazine’s 2008 Automobile All-Stars.

The 2010 Chevrolet Malibu model has changed little from that wildly successful car. The 2.4L four cylinder engine offered on base models can now use E85 as well as regular gasoline. A hybrid edition has been discontinued. With its crisp, tailored lines, the Chevrolet MalibuChevrolet Malibu - Family sedan car looks more like a luxury sedan than a fleet car. And along with the upscale styling is a similarly handsome cabin in terms of materials and build quality. Two-tone interior schemes, even on base models, further the effect.

The 2010 Chevy Malibu is available in four trims: base LS, midlevel 1LT and 2LT and luxury LTZ. Even the LS comes with full power features, air-conditioning, satellite radio, side curtain airbags, traction control and OnStar. The LT versions upgrade with stability control, alloy wheels and (on the 2LT) heated seats and more power features. Highlights of the LTZ include foglamps, 18-inch alloys, leather seating and an upgraded audio system.

Once an afterthought for import shoppers, the Malibu should now be a consideration for Accord and Camry shoppers.  It’s not the only domestic midsize car buyers should consider, either an improved Ford Fusion is now competition for the top of the class as well.
